My dad sat me down when I was a very young child to watch this and its a great movie. Where the Red Fern Grows is also very good. We read the book and then watched the movie in Elementary school. Not a dry eye in the room. If youre an animal lover, especially dogs these two movies will make you cry. I read Where The Red Fern Grows as a kid on my way back from a fishing trip with my dad. When I finished I put my head against the passenger side window while sobbing horribly.
