I'm 20ish hours into this and still exploring the first region - it's been a great time so far but I'll be very perplexed if this game does indeed have the same shortcomings as DD1 seeing as that game was famously unfinished and ostensibly the whole point of this game was to "do it right." (Like, to the point that the title screen and title card both just say "Dragon's Dogma" with no "2.")
