like, he was one of the first comic relief black characters that wasn't necessarily meant to be mean-natured. I think it's more the catch-phrase that brought him over the top...but unfortunately, sitcoms were all about that kind of stuff for decades. but let's say you took him out of the equation, the rest of the characters were grounded, so I don't wanna say it was racist in general. edit: also, the show was created by two black men, but idk how involved they were throughout. --- "I could never encapsulate all my cosmicality on my own." - mr.
