those guys are a different breed from those simple "free armor trimming" spammers

nowadays I don't see people offering free armor trimming but there are still people who offer to double money. one thing I like to do is show them all the cash I currently have in my bank, offer it all in a trade and not do anything in the final trade confirmation window so they end up declining the trade once they know i'm trolling them lol

dude i used to do the same thing in like every version of runescape once I've gotten a decent stack. for both double money and free armor trimming. Also I recall a few times someone legit doubled my gp if it was a low enough amount (like 5m or less) and i just left (this was usually after showing them a few hundred mill and im like "can i test first").

I remember the elysian boss scams as well. I'd follow the person till just before they ask me to enter the boss area w/ a bunch of items. To waste their time and all.

also back in rs3 id go to f2p worlds on my low level alt and do a "bank sale". Id offer a bunch of random junk like mind runes bronze daggers etc.. and slip in a party hat or two in the mix. see what people offer for it. tend to just be a few hundred K at max and they'd be like please i want it. just thought this was funny at the time.
