hmm... botw. tears of the kingdom does a lot of things better than botw in terms of gameplay, but the story is so colossally disappointing for me that it just sours my whole experience. i replayed botw a couple times just to soak up the bits of lore, rewatch the cutscenes, etc... there wasn't much to the story in botw, but what there was had a little mystery and seemed to tie back to the lore. totk's story barely even tied back to the game that came right before. and it was just very bland, forgettable. we brought back ganondorf just to basically not do anything with him. all the zonai stuff just kind of overshadowed the rest of zelda lore and it just didn't have a good feel to it.

it was so bad even the zelda tubers dumped on it. and it's the reason i haven't touched totk since i beat it when it released.
I wish they did more with Ganondorf, especially story wise. I do prefer him over Calamity Ganon. Both games have scattered story cut scene stories due to the timer being open world.
