If your main pawn that you can't dismiss is infected, the only option is to kill them and it would be an actual game design problem if they retained the affliction no matter how many times you killed them. Given that, it makes sense what you have to do. I just chose to kill all of them because I wake up every morning in real life and choose videogame violence.
