I feel like they realize that they're going to move off of hardware soon or try to push gaming to just cloud based. I read something that made me think of this being a possibility but video game consoles are perhaps very archaic and slowly will just die off, having needing only a television. This will most likely not happen soon but there's a possibility of it being in the near future.

Although if cloud based gaming and video game hardware being inessential are connected, I don't know.

If they were smart they would yeah, the hardware side has been failing for them for years & years. But suits don't usually see that shit written on the wall because they only see short term, not long term. The long term is that Xbox has been dying for years. The short term is that Game Pass subscribers are high, so it can offset the problems. But none of them realize that people are also tired of subscription services & don't want there to be so many of them.

Best case they do more software & focus on PC gaming & cloud services & such since that could still be salvaged.

But yeah the prices have been increasing regardless with all these major players in the market & not having gone anywhere. Price fixing/leadership is how they compete, not by selling better products or lowering prices incrementally to undercut their competitor to drive sales.

Competition is how the FFXIV market board functions where people just don't give a fuck & will undercut your 10K gil item, by 5K, & then the bottom falls off of the value for an item instead of everyone fixing their prices all at 10K & forcing people to buy it at it's highest lmao. I know average people don't understand how capitalism works because the XIV market place in a bubble proves people do not follow how it operates & do actual competition, instead of how all major corporations in the world do it haha.
