Absolutely correct, but It seems like a lot of these people aren't writers, they're activists. Writing a good story was never their objective. and I've seen people simultaneously criticize forced diversity while praising good examples (last one I saw was Dion from FF who is gay). That being said AAA games have much deeper problems then forced diversity.
