Pretty sure you can just watch it and figure out anything else through context

Yeah, but then I'd constantly feel, "This isn't the full experience."

It's like when I watched Kong vs Godzilla, and assumed there was valid, underlying context to the stuff I didn't understand... when in reality it was a terribly-written mess of a movie that sequeled another terribly-written mess of a movie.

Or if I hadn't seen Avengers before Thor 3 when I wouldn't have realized how stupid Loki's reaction in one scene which served as a callback.

Pretty sure if you watched you'd just be annoyed afterward that you'd wasted your time.

It's possible, especially if I watched the earlier stuff and then thought it wasn't as good as that.

I've got to say, I'm very happy where scifi is for movies right now. Dune Part 2 came out, and that was a massive hit. Then there's also 3 Body Problem that netflix came up.

They're not hardest of hard scifi, but there's enough out there, that hopefully is big enough, that I'm crazy excited that scifi may become big again.

Other than Dune and the mainstream scifi franchises (like SW), I'm not sure I've noticed much scifi hitting theaters, etc.
