Mmm, I don't know about "apolitical" in this case. Don't get me wrong far-right radicalization is definitely a thing but I feel like you already have to be at least somewhat "anti-woke" already to take those particular talking points seriously.

You're probably right that it wouldn't have blown up as much as it did if it wasn't for some of the people involved making such a fuss about it, but as someone who does a lot of lurking, I can tell you that the anti-SBI stuff has been simmering in certain corners of the internet for a while, hence why that Steam curator was created in the first place; the reaction to it, at most, just caused the spark that made everything boil over.
