If he had not fucked it up for everybody, it might have been reasonable to get a month without an official policy on it.

3 days?! I fucking hate people.

The attendance policies were strict for suburban Ohio I guess. We also had mistakes with the excused absence list that led to teachers writing you up for "cutting class." Then you had a meeting with the Vice Principal trying to straighten that mess out before you got punished harshly.

I've known people who got in trouble but most teachers in my school generally reasoned that if they didn't want to be in class that it was better for everyone.

I wish I had a term for this kind of behavior. The efficiency directive. Needing to train people and demand maximum efficiency at all points. It's not enough we spend 1/3rd of our lives working just to survive, we have to maximize the efficiency of every moment even if all wisdom tells us this is harmful in the long run..
