I watched a video essay on this and since then I'm convinced ever since then no matter what language you're shouting about the power of friendship/etc it's still cringe. Having it in another language just kind of hides the cringe. Yes dubs used to be pretty atrocious in the 2000s but I think for the most part theyre pretty well done nowadays.
