They forget this market is saturated as hell and people can get their pvp fix in a thousand other games. I played OW/OW2 for like 2k hours and dropped it like a rock after the season with Lifeweaver. Theres some people who wont find what they were looking for in other games but most just want a somewhat casual fun looking shooter, and with those releasing basically constantly its just a numbers game before there is one that dethrones OW.

The market was saturated when OW1 dropped, it will be saturated when the last OW2 player logs off.

Fact is overwatch has held its own because of its character design, its highly variable and versatile play system, unique team play experience and its look and feel. The fact they've basically not given any major lore updates snd it still survives just on its initial basis tells you how effective blizzard was at the character design and gameplay. I can't go into any other shooter and play a hamster in a robot ball mech. I csnt go into any other shooter and play a melee based sueprvillain who punches. I can do that in ovrrwatch.
