Need to be careful on this, actually. If you start to come out and say that crime is coming down, people can turn against you if they do not feel that crime is clming down--even if you have the stats to back it up.

At the end of the day, people's feels matter a lot. Even if they aren't always rational.
People feel crime isnt down despite the facts because unfortunately Republicans are just better at messaging. Ultimately controlling people's feelings.

When Republicans have a win, they don't celebrate or message on it here and there. They repeat it at nauseum to make sure the American people, and more importantly those swing voters hear it and think it's true. Democrats don't do that, they message on it here and there, but for the most part they let Republicans take the steering wheel on the narrative. Democrats believe the facts will speak for itself, and that the American people are paying attention to the facts.....which we should know by now that swing voters are well informed on politics....like at all. They just know what Tiktok, Facebook, YouTube or whatever influencer or talking piece they hear the most. Republicans are more aware of this hence why they repeat their messaging even when it's a known lie.

They even let Republicans straight up lie. There's even that minority of left leaners who will happily regurgitate some of Republicans talking points like Kyle Kulinski or Breahna Joy if the Democrats "didnt do enough."

My point is, controlling those feelings or perspective of a narrative means you have to constantly message about it at nauseum. Over and over, day after day, week after week, month after month in near unison. Certainly doesnt mean the jobs done ofc, but you use the victory as a stepping stone to message and accomplish even more.

Thank God Democrats have gotten better in the past 4 years, but still have a ways to go on their messaging.
