In general, I don't trust modern Hollywood to do anything of value with older properties. Top Gun 2 is the equivalent of catching a leprechaun on Friday the 13th with a blue moon hanging overhead. I don't see modern Hollywood as any different than it's ever been most movies have always been bad with the few good ones being the rarity. Really a sequel or remake of an old movie today scares me no more then it did in the nineties. Only difference is I was less attached to this films being remake or getting decades too late sequels.
