No idea why Silent Hill 2 would get so many votes to begin with. Silent Hill 2 was critically acclaimed. In North America, Japan, and Europe, over one million copies were sold, with the greatest number of sales in North America. Critics praised its psychological horror story, use of symbolism and taboo topics, atmosphere, graphics, monster designs, soundtrack, sound design and emotional depth. It is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time and the best horror game ever made.[1][2][3][4] It is also regarded as a key example of video games as an art form.
