I'm gonna need you to explain the difference between ethnic cleansing and genocide

From Wikipedia:
Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term "genocide", considered the displacement of Native Americans by European settlers as a historical example of genocide.[7] However, others, like historian Gary Anderson, contend that genocide does not accurately characterize any aspect of American history, suggesting instead that ethnic cleansing is a more appropriate term.[8]

Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a given area, with the intent of making a region ethnically homogeneous.

Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people[a] in whole or in part.

The 'in part' makes this feel like two sides of the same coin, at minimum <_< but I guess some people do view them as distinct.
