I relied on alcohol to reduce my anxiety for about 3 years. Drank it almost everyday in that time.. gained about 25 pounds weight and my face was bloated up all the time. I'm a super lightweight so it only took like 3 beers (around like 8%-10% alcohol) to get me buzzed and 6 beers to get me super duper drunk. An extra two after that and I'm throwing up. I had a bunch of those nights. I switched over to sipping on cheap vodka on my final year.

I quit on May 11, 2022 and this lasted until the night of March 4, 2024. Felt the need to drink again for one night because my anxiety was through the roof .

I havent had a sip since then tho. Got tempted a few days later but I just laid down in a dark room and read an ebook (was reading Child of God). Helped calm me down. I know this method probably won't be reliable for everyone. Just what helped me recently.

My main motivation to quit initially was the weight loss tbh. I wanted to look like my younger self again. I did lose that weight. I'm actually currently underweight now I'm pretty sure.

Anyway yeah it sounds like the start of a drinking problem to me. My family also has a history of alcoholism. Quite a few of them died when covid came around initially. I guess catching that wasn't good for their already weakened bodies.

Oh and I remember @guide responding to some of my drunk posts from a few years ago. I think he did help me out I have him tagged as a helpful person with a cute dog.
