The Last of Us Tetris Undertale went for a mix of fantastic visuals, storytelling, and immersion for the first two. different weight on 'em and i don't think anyone else will mention El Shaddai even though this is the one category it has legs on. Tetris was picked for its simplicity and its ability to grab a player and keep them attached to it. in terms of something that's mastered the art of a video game, little tops it. i do wonder if Baldur's Gate 3 will end up on the short list here when it's complete as well but too soon for that. Undertale for its uniqueness and also trying to take video games to a different level as not just a game but an experience too, without losing track that it's a video game. that's the pitfall i find lost in a lot of the more pretentious ones. --- "Maybe it's a tentacle, molesting the planet itself. - Aschen Brodel. ...
