This isn't my field and you have had some good insights on the subject.

Short version is that if a court is considering an order to show cause, the following has happened:

1. The party that is the subject of an order to show cause has substantially fucked up;
2. The party that sought the order knows the first party fucked up; and
3. The court knows that the first party fucked up.

A show cause order is basically the court saying, "Aight, you fucked up. How stupid is your explanation?" To completely blow it off like this resulted in a bench warrant, and contempt may not be off the table either.

Moreover, to do so while gallivanting around defending an element of the same conspiracy the lady is herself involved in is peak... something. Words fail me on that part.
