Yes and no. The opposition is definitely systemic and has no real chance to win, but the Communist Party is legitimately popular in parts of the Russian far east. Lot of fossils in Russia who want to go back to the Soviet era. Helps that they generally support Putin on most issues.

As I said earlier the real surprise of the election is New People coming on third over the LDPR who usually finish third in local Russian elections. Supposedly Putin regrets letting Vladislav Davankov run and tried to replace him at the last second since hes young and vaguely anti war, but didnt have enough time to find a Putin stooge to replace him. Really worried for that dudes safety unlike the other two token candidates.
