He's an ethno-nationalist pretending to care about this for obvious reasons. His problem isn't just with Pacific Islanders (who he obviously detests for not giving their land to China), but also other Asians who aren't the "right" ethnicity.

How about you stop putting words in my mouth. The term AAPI is almost exclusively used in the USA, and being Chinese Australian, I find the grouping bizarre since nobody in Australia groups Asian Australians and Pacific Islander Australians together.

Furthermore my Chinese nationalism is not along ethnic lines, but entirely a retaliatory response towards anti-Chinese racism in the Western world, fuelled by far right politicians like Marcos Rubio and Tom Cotton and the likes of Marsha Blackburn who says openly racist shit like "the Chinese have a 5000 year history of stealing and lying" but later claims she's "only criticising the CCP", a common cop-out for Sinophobes.

Considering that I was a victim of racial abuse and had to fight my way out of several, I am smart enough to understand that hating people because of their ethnicity is one of the dumbest things people can do.
