I don't need approval but it hurts that my parents of all people can't say they believe in me or tell me I got this. Best I can get from my mom is "I understand." I tell her I'm not looking for just understanding and I called her cold. She gave a "well..." face and admitted she was cold and said "You're looking for something I can't give you."
