But yeah, I didn't like how they handled the usage (or non usage) of the personal shields and the way the "slow but fast" technique was inconsistent. And 9 is just dumb. In the book, the houses more or less accept Paul as Emperor, and the Holy War is Paul ensuring his station and paving the way for ~~The Golden Path~~, which becomes more apparent over the next few books. My guess is this change (and the one regarding Chani) in the movie has to do with expediency and the "modern updates" that Denis is injecting into his adaptation of the story. But I agree, it was dumb thing to change.
