For example on what happens when hateful psychos get power see Israel. Imagine the US's full military might with the type of government Israel has. We wouldn't be doing a bad job in getting an ally to stop being aggressive we would be committing the genocide ourselves. But this is also a relatively safe space to scream into the void.
