They probably also try a coup again but I think a democrat administration should minimize the damage compared to 1/6.

The GOP has gone all in on the fascism shit Trump wants, there's too many people that think like literal Nazis for them to shift to the left instead of prop up another fascist who doesn't have the baggage Trump now has. This is probably what they will be like for 10, 20 more years, at minimum, at least until the SCOTUS has slightly less crazy judges on it, it gets acted on more, or they start losing elections by even more lopsided margins than they currently are.
