Topic	Do you get mistaken for another ethnicity or nationality?
TheSavageDragon 03/05/24 12:11:20 PM #7:	Constantly. I've been mistaken for Turkish, Moroccan, Greek, Spanish and Italian. Probably because I've got some Romani ancestry. Once was walking home from school in my late teens and a car with German plates pulled up next to me occupied by 2 adult Turks and 2 children. One of the men gets out, shakes my hand and starts talking in his native language to me while palming a wristwatch into my hand. Seeing the very confused look on my face he asked "You not Turkish?" in English and then proceeded to explain they came from Germany to visit relatives in France, but they had miscalculated how much gas it would take and had no money to refill the tank. So he was trying to sell me his watch.
