Many don't like tapping their credit/debit card lest the dark web is watching them... meanwhile they're texting photos of their kids to 40 of their closest friends. I think cashiers & self-checkout both are here to stay together. Some companies are getting rid of self-checkout in high theft locales, yet overall it's made shopping more satisfying experience for many, including myself. I'd say the % of times having to wait in line for a self-checkout machine is maybe 9% of my experiences... & % having to wait in line for a cashier is about 89%. I prefer the former, by miles. ...
