Superheroes are conceptually immature. It stems from a fascist fantasy to be superior to the masses. Romantic fantasies, while shunned for being vicarious substitutes for the limitations of real-life romance, are in my opinion healthier and more productive than wishing oneself to be a benevolent superior.

So, no. I don't get much fun out of Spider-Man in the absence of Mary Jane Watson. I'll never be ashamed to admit that the series is just Twilight for Boys and that I'm firmly in the shipping camp that I'm in.
