Admittedly, I haven't played FFXIV but my understanding was that Square basically erased it from history and rebuilt the game with ARR as an apology. Maybe it wasn't as objectively bad as the others mentioned here (in fact I'm almost positive it can't be) but that kind of response by the dev struck me as worth a shout. --- May you find your book in this place.
