Topic	Does the military intentionally target poor or low income neighborhoods?
ssjevot 02/26/24 11:22:04 PM #18:	Honestly the military can be a good path out of poverty for some people. Me and my best friend grew up on a dirt poor reservation in Minnesota. I went to college and eventually got a PhD and now work as a research professor in Japan. He joined the Navy and became a nuclear technician on submarine and is now working for a Japanese company that makes essential parts for semiconductor manufacturing. He never even got an undergrad degree, but he makes four times more than I do.
