I live in a high crime rate area and still home sellers are pricing their shitty brick ranch homes with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for $250K.

I'm alone. Single. I don't make much. About 65K. And I'm 37. Haven't saved much thanks to getting a late start. I don't believe I'll be able to get a house in my life time if things keep trending the way they have been.

I'm lucky my Mother managed to pay this house off. I'm privileged to live here and pay the meager bills that need to be paid that she can't thanks to being sick. It's a better deal than handing that money off to a landlord who will probably use it to buy a new house and pay that mortgage with the money.
