So the game has you fight "commies" (robots), bugs (bugs), calls Super Earth's government an, ahem, "managed democracy", and throws away lives into the cogs of war and government much in the same way that fascist societies do (you die A LOT and respawn with new drop pods all the time). Starship Troopers is a very real influence to the game, and it shows in every fascet of the game. And Starship Troopers (the movie, at least) is a blatant critique of fascism and people who aren't aware that they live under a fascist government--much like in Helldivers. --- This rant was brought to you by your local random thinker.
