World of Warcraft Playable Non-Allied Races Rankings:
  1. Blood Elf - Perfect Elf / Human hybrid race even if they are purely just elves in this universe. Basically they are just the human race option for the Horde with elf like features. Can't think of anything more perfect than that description. Unquestioned best for me. After them, 2-5 is honestly very close.
  2. Dwarf - Easily my personal favorite Alliance race. For how popular of a fantasy race they are, they are surprisingly a niche pick in this game.
  3. Draenei - Basically the sexier answer for the Alliance to the Horde's Tauren. I absolutely love both of those races but give a slight edge to the look of Draenei over the hilarity of Tauren. Added to that slight edge to make it even bigger is the space goat aspect of the race. Honestly just an all around interesting race. As seen with Veira I just absolutley love the overly tall and slender female races.
  4. Tauren - Pretty much mentioned everything necessary here in the last one. Niche pick + hilarious + interesting nature factor + overly tall slender option.
  5. Troll - Like the previous ones, I absolutely love this race but this time with both the female and male options. Very unique and different from every other race both in lore and look. More of a tribal race than all the others that seem to prefer industrialism. Even different than what many would think of as a troll race. Like dwarfs not super popular for a core member of the Horde which make them a nice niche pick as well. After this, 6-8 is very close to each other and all still amazing races.
  6. Goblin - Not much of a fan of the smaller races mostly because most of the time they are just scaled down humans. But Warcraft does the small race so damn well with Goblins. They have such a unique story and look. It is fun to finally have a solid option to play the game from the floor as. Love their comic nature and industrialism despite basically just being slaves most of the time. The entire race is basically just capitalism satire.
  7. Night Elf - Probably the most widely known and popular race from early WoW is essentially the wood elves of the game somewhat hybrid with human features. I absolutely love their look and identity as the nature loving agile rangers. Still, as mentioned before I much prefer the elitist magic using elves and the Blood elf look is just so much better. Night elves are just a bit too generic and boring to pique my interest. Still amazing but can't compete with the best of the best.
  8. Forsaken - Just another amazing and unique race. It is so fun and funny to play as the hero who is also a zombie who simps for a queen. Their look, however, can be a bit too bland to be up with the best races to play. Other than choosing a variety of disfigurements they aren't really that noticeably different from each other. There are differences just they can be hard to notice. I think they probably needed to be a bit bigger in size and they could have gone so much further with making them cooler looking.
  9. Drachtyr - Haven't played this race very much but they do seem incredibly cool. Their existence in the world seems a bit more forced than the earlier core races obviously. Cool concept and nice that you can have two different forms to customize. What may have been cooler is if they tried for a true hybrid dragon and human race instead of two different forms. This race also seems like a massive outcast to the earlier core races. This feels like a jumping the shark race.
  10. Worgen - Werewolf class very cool and fun but their design in the game is just kind of bland and boring. Two forms but the other form is just a bleh human form. I love the style of the race. Probably the most gothic themed race in the game.
  11. Pandaren - Humanized pandas with Chinese themes not much more to say here. By no means bad but kind of meh to me.
  12. Human - Probably the most boring and generic human race in any game that has multiple race options. Only saving grace is they made the women nice and curvy.
  13. Orc - Normally I love the orc race but this game just does it so damn bad. Early on in the game before model updates it really did not even feel like you were playing as an orc at all just rather a green human from another game. And a lot of that could be that they are the generic lead race of the Horde. Over time as the models got more detailed you could start to see more character from the race but still just a very boring and bland design. The race just has zero character at all in the game. It is just there existing.
  14. Gnome - They just suck

I did not include allied races as there would be way too many at that point. Most of which are kind of just overlaps on the core races which could cause some conflicts. I will do a list of the allied races later. Then maybe even later a list of all the races combined.

I wrote a lot more for Warcraft because I have been playing this franchise consistently for over 20 years now. So, I have a lot to say. Got kind of tired of writing towards the end but really it was more I lost a lot of passion writing about the races I do not care at all about towards the bottom.
