skip coffee (the day you want to be able to catch up on sleep at the end of)
go to bed at exactly the right time, which is early but not too early. hard to get right. (you should get 8-9 hours from when you actually fall asleep. don't start getting ready at the 8 hour mark. but also don't try to get 12 hours or you'll wake up too soon.)
don't eat too much right before bed.
