The amount of doomerposting I'm seeing on social media about the avdiivka defeat has to be some kind of ruZZia propaganda operation. It feels so artificial.

I understand Ukraine's situation is quite dire right now, especially with the US practically dropping out of supporting Ukraine militarily, but ruZZia taking one not-very-strategically-significant town after 4 months and 16,000 soldiers sacrificed to the meat grinder is not the "ok guys gg, war's basically over" like many are saying it is. The political situation in ruZZia is not super stable right now either despite the Putin regime's attempts to keep up airs, and the ruZZian military are also becoming extremely dependent on foreign aid.

They held that town for 10 years until they literally ran out of ammunition.

It was a total route - we dont know how many were killed and how many were captured as they were attempting to retreat.

But it did not have to happen.
