The issue isn't just that the attack happened its that Hamas claims to govern a territory that has two million people in it, and they are saying they will repeat the attack again and again. Any major power would invade at that point. I dont disagree completely but there are levels of retaliation. Israel (or anyone in the situation) shouldnt get carte blanche to do whatever you want because of the October attacks. Certainly not genocide.
