I'm not looking forward to the hidden fees when I finally (hopefully) get my own home. >_<

What hidden fees? Maintenance?

You could put a car in the driveway to make it more obvious, or just make it more obvious someone is home some other way.

Unless you prefer this as a way to "trap" thieves, but even in that case video evidence that someone might have trespassed is not as clear cut as some think that it proves she had ill intentions or did something. Even in the case you have something more than that you better be able to know exactly who it is and not just some rando that lives nearby.

My neighbor says people come into his property to look at his car parked outside so I'd rather not do that either lol

I never found that owning a home was more work than renting. That said, I bought a brand new house and the company that built had to come and sort out anything that went wrong with it for the first ten years, and I only lived there for three.

Yeah mine is a new build too so I just have random things here and there for now that fail. But it's still more work than renting because I'm responsible for managing the repairs and paying for them personally.

That said, despite all of that, I still would never rent again.

I also won't if I can help it.

I pretty much did, yeah.

Technically Im in a rented property now, but I get paid to live there, so living the dream.

So you AREN'T a homeowner. Why bother replying to a topic about being a homeowner lol
