Topic	What four Princesses are on the Disney Princess Mount Rushmore?
LightningStrikes 02/04/24 9:03:16 AM #8:	Snow White Ariel Belle Elsa Time for some Disney Princess real talk: The concept of a Disney Princess didnt exist until the 90s. The pre-Rennaisance characters were all labelled as such retroactively, and Alice from Alice in Wonderland was briefly considered one before being removed from the lineup. Now there is some connective tissue here, Cinderella was deliberately intended to evoke Snow White as part of Disneys return to features after the package film era, hence why the poster for Cinderella calls the film THE GREATEST SINCE SNOW WHITE which I find hilarious. The actual Princess aspect being the core of the archetype didnt come until much later though. As such I briefly considered having no pre-Rennaisance characters but Snow White did come first and aside from the other three I dont feel super strongly about the rest. As for the others, Ariel is the first proper Disney Princess and without her the branding doesnt exist. Belle codified most of the current more positive tropes.
