Rap is so utterly entrenched in a very specific time and place and zeitgeist that I don't know how you can fully appreciate half of it unless you were alive and in the know at the time it was written. Even then, you're probably still not getting everything. Theres literally rap about every single walk of life from every single era imaginable lmao. Nerd rap, rich rap, political rap, sad boy rap, girls night rap, party rap, weed rap, literally everything. You dont need to have grown up in the 90s to find "juicy" to be a banger of a song. You dont need to have grown up dirt poor to appreciate "lose yourself". Its THE most versatile genre in existence. --- This post didn't exist to you until you read it.
