This was a big reason I was I insistent on either a Condo (which I ended up buying) or a townhouse. Yeah, HOA fees are annoying, but it is comforting knowing the emergencies are covered. Dont care about the yard or anything of that sort.

I refuse to live under an HOA after handling claims involving them at work and seeing what they do. I was lucky enough to get a house in a non-HOA neighborhood so that was great. It would be nice to have my neighborhood have more cohesive greenery all over and stuff to look nicer but I'd rather live on a street with a guy who has 18 broken down cars parked around his house then deal with an HOA.

Did you at least buy a top floor condo? Or is it side by side?
