Not sure I agree with the game not having very good writing, I think it could be a mix of some info still not being relayed yet (for plot purposes), but also maybe some more helpful info being dumped in the datalogs. Neither of the next two games have that issue, at least. I think the problem I have is just how much is in the datalog - it makes it hard to care about Cocoon. I like the characters enough, sure, but the setting does nothing for me, and I don't care whether the Focus succeeds or not. --- Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered!
