After many days of sickness and many days of busy with very little time at a computing device and many days of accidentally skipping over songs ... I am here again almost at the end of this journey. With extra fun?? Most of these I listened to while I had just enough alcohol in me to say something silly, but not enough for me to be actually impaired.

Wow, Carry Stress in the Jaw is ... rather unexpected! Starting off with some jazz sax and then switching to some crazy heavy riffs ... wtf! Even the sax decides it wants to be insane. This is just ...I don't want to say nonsense because I use that word to describe silly things ... but its wild. There's some vocal work I don't really like, but they're brief and sparse enough to pass before I'm irritated. I can't tell if I think it has dragged on too long, or if the "randomness" works in its favour. I'm losing it in the later parts of the song (where the vocal parts are more upfront I reckon) but it is still a banger to me.

Ah yes, A WONGGA DANCE SONG ... "A WONGGA" sounds like a sound effect associated with a cartoon man who just watched a woman breasts boobily down the stairs. I did say I had alcohol in me while writing some of these? Luckily the song itself is actually top tier. It almost sounds kind of tribal in places, but then switches to a more alien song. I love the hollow rhythms, the little chanting, the glitchy effects. Yeah this is definitely "my thing". I love musical versions of weird little guys and this covers that in spades.

The biggest plot twist of the century is that I already have Save A Kiss in my library. This is a song with vocals that feel timeless, a real throwback. As someone with the music taste of the Olds, I appreciate that. It isn't mind blowing or world changing, but honestly, it doesn't need to be. Sometimes a straight up banger is enough. And this is indeed a banger.

Didn't expect a group with the name of Jockstrap to come up with something melancholy and otherworldly sounding in parts. Concrete Over Water has a dreamlike sound I appreciate. I tend to have to be in the mood for vocal dreamy music (less picky about instrumentals for whatever reason), but I can see myself throwing this on during a foggy morning. Oh wait, maybe I spoke too soon. This shit is getting weird (complimentary) but in a loud way. Okay, the weird part ended kinda quickly I retract my statement. K yeah, this was good. Might have dragged on just a smidge, but it caught my attention almost the whole way through.

Vtubers as a whole are very hit or miss to me. I could ramble on, but I'll just say that preparing myself for Never Ending Midnights took some skepticism on my part. I think I was worried that this would be like one of those airy childish songs with those backing vocals, but oh no, this lady has the kind of voice I love and want in Japanese vocals. The ramping up of intensity in the latter half is a treat. Really neat stuff.

oh HELLO weird noises courtesy of Pata. How are you, mate? This is yet another weird little guy track and I love to see it! Very uncomfortable in how it builds up, meets near silence, and then continues. I think if it was a few minutes longer, I'd vibe with it much less, but as it stands, it is a solid expression of this particular idea.

T.I.M.E. is both mildly terrifying and awe inspiring in a way I cannot describe HOLY FUCK ITS THE ALL STAR WHISTLING okay yeah I actually ended up getting distracted and listening to half this album before remembering my intentions. I am not kidding this is why I forgot to post here for three days.

I'm at a loss for words at that intro to Sapphire Ridge. I'm a big fan of the original, to the point that I'm honestly surprised I kept forgetting to listen to this album. I genuinely feel as though the CrossCode soundtrack was intended to hearken back to old school JRPGs, or at least that is what it sounds like to me. Even an arrangement of this track holds up that sound, with parts that kind of give me the same feeling I felt from Final Fantasy X.

I was going to just rip off the band aid so to speak and finish the last few tracks too but Jesus Christ it has been two weeks when will I have TIME to stay at the ymca
