I don't agree, but if I squint I can see why someone would think that this is more important than who voted for what.

They're hiding their facist ideology behind moralistic outrage. It's how they peddle their wares. "Oh look at the immoral things democracy allows! We must forgo democracy if we are to keep our moral standing, my fellow good man. Please ignore that if I am put into the level of power I desire, that I would crush you under heel the moment you pipe up when I inevitably do something you find reprehensible."
