I'm in the camp of putting Lost Levels dead last because it's a level of difficulty that takes away all enjoyment for me, but I'm simply not the kind to like punishing platformers and avoid them. The other Mario games are very good at knowing how to set the difficulty just right. The other NES games employ great elements of game design and then there is Lost Levels that exists just to be a dick.
