As I recall it, Tim was having trouble saying "I love you" to one of his sons & settled on using "How about the [sports team]?" as a secret phase they'd just agree meant he loved him. And somehow my mind remembered that as "How about them Broncos?" which... pretty sure that's not how the sentence went & also not likely the sports team referenced. --- Formerly known as Raetsel.
