Migrants are not stupid. They know the benefits and sanctuary policies to places like Chicago and NYC and have been saying such in interviews. Many are just coming on their own. Many are also being sent by the Democratic mayors of El Paso and Denver, who are also overwhelmed. NGOs also buying them free tickets. And now they're also getting an influx flying in at O'Hare, paid by FEMA.

This particular protest was mostly Asian people with some Latinos over yet another migrant shelter in an already ignored and impoverished neighborhood. They were mad at her because she didn't tell anyone and tried to act like a couple of tweets and visiting a few houses was enough notice. Of course, they shouldn't have gotten violent, but expect more of this. Same is happening with the black community there as well.

CBS News quotes sources. It does not say mayor's office or city council. Yes indeed journalists have intelligence sources that city alderman do not have. While President Biden may have better sources, the 12th ward Alderman has a modest staff.

They were mad at her because of poor life strategies. #1 blaming never helps #2 hurting who you blame never helps #3 (cop might not know this) Hurting someone because you can is anti social. #4 This is the person who is trying to help them.

Regarding impoverished. Interviews with protestors indicates that they are home owners protesting that their property values will go down.
