Without even looking at the reviews or other forums I'm confident that isn't true. While there's probably no actual proof I'm sure there is plenty of evidence.

That you yourself have taken an interest and invested time in this topic in the way you have is a kind of evidence in and of it's self. It tells me that for whatever reason the show is a hot topic in some circles. Because you're hardly unique.
