It's possible I remembered wrong since this was some time ago and I didn't exactly make a point of dedicating the details to memory. So it's less conflating North and South and more memory error. I do appreciate you bringing such information forward.

I'd imagine shows about the US military might fascinate other powers in the world who see the US as a potential threat. Sure, espionage is an option for some countries, albeit illegal and not something to be claimed outright, but having a show that freely says what bases might exist or how structure might work, as according to the propaganda machine that keeps trying too lure young recruits into the US military ranks? So fascinating, I'm sure. The homosexuality thing isn't even in the equation for them at that point.

I consider the quality of the writing, directing, and editing to decide if a thing is drivel or not, not the quantity of things portrayed.
