Sorry for the bump, but TBH I do feel like a lot of the time people point out "unfortunate" implications they're overblown to various degrees or else just generally don't bother me. This is a big reason I tend to fall into alt-right traps, although now I'm realizing they're at least as bad if not worse in the "getting easily offended" department. In the case of the whole Steve possessing that guy thing, like, I dunno, I feel like if I'm watching a comic book movie I can accept a lot of fantastical stuff. Still found the movie overall mediocre though - would put it on par with Batman Forever personally if we're assessing DC Comics adaptations. Though Forever is more forgettable on the whole.
